What is bootstrapping?

Bootstrapping is the process for speeding up the syncing of your wallet.  Syncing is your wallet downloading all transactions from when it was made until now.  You can bootstrap your wallet to give it the file instead of it downloading slowly (syncing).

The process is outlined in the Staking guide below or here is an excerpt.

  1. Navigate your browser to

This is a dynamic backup and updates constantly.

If you need a reserve location for any reason, this is a bootstrap that works but gets older each day:–raMzkKU2cQuIaVlr

If you want to bootstrap on WINDOWS manually or for MAC

  1. Open up your wallet location on your C:\ Drive. The default location will be:

For Windows C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Linda

For Mac ~/Library/Application Support/Linda

eg cp -a /Users/<username>/Downloads/Linda/* /Users/<username>/Library/Application Support/Linda/

  1. The contents of the folder and the zip contents should be very similar.       Simply drag the contents of the zip into that folder and override the existing files.
  2. Once this is done, close out the folders and zip if it is still open and open up the Linda app again. There will be hours left worth of syncing to do but it will be much faster at this point.

Never send coins to your wallet until it is fully synced.  If you have sent to a unsynced wallet you will not lose your coins, you will just give yourself a scare until your wallet has fully updated.
